This complex renovation began with a basic bungalow on a lake that was years past its prime as a weekend getaway cottage. The years had taken their toll on a structure that was lightly built and rather badly added-onto. Only 850 square feet of living space was simply too small for a home on such a valuable property. But tearing the old structure down was also out of the question: new structures must comply with new lake setback regulations. And a simple remodel by any ordinary builder would never do either.
Banny Custom Homes transformed this house to a dream come true, starting with the foundation. The entire home was lifted off its dangerous cinder block supports and a new up-to-code foundation with an insulated crawl space was installed.
The main level was enlarged by 600 square feet and an entirely new second floor was built. The new home has 2,800 square feet of living space, a huge wall of windows with great views of the lake, and an efficient, comfortable new heating and cooling system.
