This basic, small ranch was built on a slab and had little to offer inside except shelter. The big draw for the owner was the size of the lot and the home's location on a lake. The complex renovation that followed made the most of the lake views and doubled the living space to 2,300 square feet.

At the center of the home, the roof framing was removed and a double-height great room was created. A whole-house, in-floor radiant heating system was also installed. The renovations also added two bedrooms, a 12 x 24 storage room, a new full bath, laundry room, new kitchen and breakfast nook. Beautifully finished with a tiled entryway and kitchen, the new spaces are bright and open, taking full advantage of the light and views.
